Fast Learner won his trial in good style at Ellerslie on Thursday. Ridden by Alysha Collett he was always travelling well, running the 1200m in an easy 1.13.8. He appears to have pulled up well and looks set to resume racing at Avondale on 21st November over 1400m.
Sakhee’s Secret – Sister City gelding again won his trial impressively over 1000m in a time of 59.94. He too has pulled up well and may make his race day debut at Te Aroha on 25th November.
Son Taari jumped well and then battled on in his 1200m trial to finish 4th. He lacks real sprinting speed but shows good stamina. Providing he comes through his trial well he may also make his race day debut at Te Aroha on 25th November.
Cartell came to the end of his run over the final 100m of his 1000m trial to finish 3rd. He will do well from the trial and should be ready to resume racing at Ellerslie on Saturday 28th. Cartell was ridden by our apprentice Gee Saejorhor who had a handful of trial rides on Thursday and is making good progress towards riding on race day.
Arctic Breeze was again disappointing in her trial, she will now be put aside to spell.
On a side note, our apprentice Zinjete Moki had a nasty fall at the trials, she was extremely lucky not to be more seriously injured and has walked away with just bruising however she may not be seen riding for a wee while.

We had runners during the week at Ellerslie and Avondale. Bellino drew poorly and ended up back in his 2200m race, he made a big run round the field around the turn and looked a likely chance half way up the straight but just came to the end of his run 200m out finishing 7th, 2.7 lengths from the winner. He will run next at Avondale on 21st November.
City Boy was in need of his run over 1200m finishing 7th, having a good blow following his race. He also may have been feeling the harder ground. So Wotif was very disappointing, he never looked comfortable and finished well back in his race. He will have a few days off before we reassess him and his racing future.
Primrose Hill drew very wide at Avondale on Wednesday and as a consequence got back in field. She wasn’t at all suited by the slow early pace and then sprint home so could be forgiven for finishing 10th of 12 runners. She may race next at Te Rapa on Sunday 22nd over 1600m.
El Escolta was disappointing, getting a good run in the race, he looking to be in a winning position on the home turn however when he was asked for an effort he gave in quickly. He will be tried next start in blinkers to help lift his game. He may also race at Te Rapa on Sunday 22nd.
Mills N Boon raced today over 1400m at Rotorua. She looked to be given every chance by Alysha Collett, getting a good run just behind the leader but faded over the concluding stages to finish 8th.
Cinematic will trial on Monday at Cambridge over 800m. Coachline has had an easy weeks pace work, he will race next at Avondale on the 21st over 2200m.
Untamed Diamond &Ventura are progressing nicely towards their next assignments. Ventura will race at Avondale on the 21st over 1600m while Untamed Diamond will start at Ellerslie on Saturday 28th over 1100m.
Chaprise was balloted out of her race today at Rotorua so she may race next at Tauranga over 1600m as will Biggin Hill. He has trained on well and will start in the R85 1200m.
Swiss Ace –Sacrista gelding & Choisir - Folk Music Filly have worked along nicely at ¾ speed this week. Selfie is picking up nicely, working steadily at the track.
