Biggin Hill races at Tauranga tomorrow. He will start in the R85 1200m and be ridden by Vinnie Colgan. There is a lot of speed in the race so he should be able to slot in well from barrier 3. His work has been very good going into the race.

Chaprise is again three on the ballot in her race at Tauranga over 1600m so it looks unlikely she will get a start. She will be nominated for Rotorua on Tuesday over 1950m.

Bellino, Coachline, Fast Learner & Ventura have all trained on impressively this week. They will have gallops tomorrow in preparation for the Counties Cup day meeting at Avondale Saturday week.

Cartell and Untamed Diamond also continue to look good for their assignments at Ellerslie on the 28th.

Now the weather has improved and we are getting warmer days we have resumed swimming some of our older horses. Swimming is great for improving fitness levels without the wear and tear on their legs.

Sakhee’s Secret – Sister City gelding and Son Taari have had a steady week of pace work following their trials. Both have come through their trials well.

Selfie has had workouts at ¾ speed this week and will gallop on Saturday. He may line up next at Ellerslie on December 5th over 1300m.

El Escolta appears to have taken no harm from his race at Avondale. He has worked in blinkers this week and will race in them when he steps out next at Te Rapa on the 22nd. Primrose Hill may also line up in the same race over 1600m.

Our 2yo’s Swiss Ace – Sacrista gelding and Choisir – Folk Music filly had their first jump out through the main gates on Thursday. They were both a little slow away but very well behaved. They will have another jump out next week. Both horses are progressing very well.

City Boy & So Wotif have been scratchy in their action since their races at Ellerslie and are now in the spelling paddock.

In breeding news, Mill Duckie who raced from our stable has foaled a lovely Ocean Park colt. This makes him a half-brother to the promising High Class who starts in the 1000 Guineas at Riccarton tomorrow. Mill Duckie had a great race record of 23  starts for 8 wins and 12 placings. She is now owned  by Nearco Stud. Photo below compliments of Adrian Clark.
