Bellino and So Wotif will race this weekend at Matamata. Bellino will run in the Matamata Cup over 1600m. He will need some luck from barrier 20 but has jockey Derek Nolan back on board who has a great record on the horse. So Wotif runs in the R85 1200m, he has drawn well at barrier 6 and will have the advantage of Zinjete Moki’s 3kg weight claim. The dead track conditions should suit both horses.
There were mixed results from the team over the past week. Untamed Diamond ran a super race first up at Te Rapa over 1200m, she jumped brilliantly from the barrier, led until the final stages in the worst part of the track and held on to run 2nd to Let Her Rip who came down the outside of the track and is highly rated by her connections. She has come through the race in good order and will start next at Rotorua on Saturday 17th, again over 1200m.
City Boy also ran an excellent race at Hawkes Bay over 1200m to finish 2nd. He has coped well with his two recent trips away. He may race next at Te Rapa on Monday 26th October or at Auckland on Cup Day.
Well fancied Selfie didn’t get a lot of luck in the Hawkes Bay Guineas, although didn’t help himself by racing ungenerously. He appears to have taken no harm from the run and has had a quiet week to recover from the trip. He may race next at Te Rapa on Monday 26th over 1400m.
Coachline raced at Waipa on Sunday, he has a good record on slow tracks however he didn’t handle the sticky track conditions on the day. He will race next at Ellerslie on the 24th October over 1600m.
Biggin Hill was fresh up at Taupo on Wednesday. He ran a creditable 4th only a length from the winner. The race was run in a very slick 57.5 seconds for the 1000m so it was a good effort.
