Firstly congratulations to our apprentice (and daughter) Alysha Collett who is, as of this week a fully-fledged jockey. Alysha completed her apprenticeship with over 130 winners in NZ and also rode successfully in both Sydney & Brisbane. She plans to stay in New Zealand and will continue to ride for the stable.

Primrose Hill will have her first race over 1400m at Avondale today. She has drawn the outside gate but it may be an advantage given the wet track conditions. Alysha Collett will ride. She is a full sister to Nigelissima and we expect her to develop into a stayer.

Proud Life raced at Matamata on Wednesday, getting back in the field she ran home well to finish 2nd over 2100m.  She has pulled up well and may race next at Te Rapa on the 16th or Ruakaka on 20th May again over 2100m.

Our Kismet also raced at Matamata, she was fresh up over 1400m and finished off her race well to finish a close up 5th. She will step up to 1600m at her next outing.

Coachline ran a creditable race for 5th at Te Rapa last Saturday given he carried top weight of 59kgs. He will run in the Rotorua cup this Saturday over 2200m. Leith Innes has retained the ride and he has dropped in weight to 55.5kgs.

Bellino will also run at Rotorua on Saturday over 1560m. He will be ridden by our apprentice Zinjete Moki who will claim 3kgs bringing his weight down to 57.5kgs. The distance may be short of his best however he should be finishing off the race well.

Mills N Boon has had a quiet week of work, she will race next at Waipa on 13th May over 1400m.

Raadical Jazz has also had a quiet week and will be nominated for Waipa on the 13th May over 1580m. The track may not suit the big long striding gelding but there are lack of options available of maiden 1600m races.

He’s A Bigdeel won his 1000m jump out on the sand on Thursday morning in good style. He will race at either Ellerslie on the 23rd over 1400m or Te Aroha on the 27th over 1200m.

Jesshanimo also had a jump out over 1000m on the sand on Thursday finishing 2nd to He’s A Bigdeel, he just tired over the concluding stages. He may race at Waipa on Wednesday over 1150m or trial prior to racing.

Chaprise is getting closer to racing again after sustaining a stone bruise. She will have a gallop on Saturday morning then we will set plans.

The Hawk, So Wotif, Queen of Cool, Blue Pool Blur, Suad, Tavistock/Beauty Queen have all continued with work progressing to a trial at Ellerslie on the 14th May.

Ventura appears to be over her cough and had some faster work at ¾ speed on the track this week.

Les Silk enjoyed her first lot of fast work on the grass this morning, she was keen to do more.

Perfectly Ready/Cataari is making steady progress after being very backward in his education level on arrival.

We are trying to dodge wet tracks with Biggin Hill, he may trial at Ellerslie on the 14th then race next over 1200m at Ruakaka on 20th May.

City Boy & El Escolta both returned to the stables this week from 3 weeks on the water walker in very good condition.

Hot Mustard will kick off his latest campaign in Sydney this weekend racing at Kembla Grange on Saturday over 1200m.
