With the weather forecast looking a bit iffy down the line Fast Learner will race closer to home at Te Aroha on Saturday. He lines up in the Open 1400m, he has drawn midfield at barrier 9 and has had a nose band added to his race day gear. The 1400m is short of his best distance but we expect him to be finishing off the race strongly.

Untamed Diamond and Cinematic have worked well during the week, they will gallop together on Saturday morning and both look on target for their next assignment over 1200m at Tauranga on the 16th April.

Irish Missile has freshened up nicely from her good first up run, she is due to gallop in company on Saturday morning. She is still on target to race again at Avondale on the 25th April.

Ventura, City Boy, Dark Secret, Queen of Cool and Japhite will all take advantage of the jump outs being held on course locally on Monday 11th. Following the jump outs we should have a good line on their fitness levels and when they will resume racing.

My Boy Charlie filly Florence Hill finished a nice 2nd over 1000m at the Avondale trials on Monday.  Son Taari and Les Silk have worked along at ¾ speed during the week and are due similar workouts again on Saturday, both are progressing well towards racing when the tracks get softer.

2yos Alamosa – Pinot Grieve filly and Testa Rossa – Taunt Pauline gelding have had barrier practice through the gates this week and are not far off a jump out or trial.  Cartell and Biggin Hill have resumed training after a short break, both have freshened up nicely.

Top Prospect (Swiss Ace – Princess Carolina) and Swissta have completed their conditioning work and are due to be stepped up to work at ¾ speed over the next week. Lady Henrietta, Rip Van Winkle – Lady Pay gelding & Savabeel – Shantaine filly have pace worked this week.
