We have a quiet weekend for the stable this week with no runners. We have been using the opportunity provided to us by the Counties Racing Club to gallop horses on the Course proper. Fast learner, Cartell, and Cinematic have all benefited from this as they prepare for their respective races next Saturday the 12th at Ellerslie.
Jump outs have been scheduled on the Counties Course Proper Monday morning and will see a few of our two years Savabeel – Shantaine filly, Irish Missile filly, Florence Hill have the opportunity to not only further develop their racing education but fitness as well. While also allowing jockeys and trainers to better asses the Counties surface.
Biggin Hill has had a quiet week following his 3rd place at Otaki last Saturday, he was ridden just off the speed where he was making steady ground over the final stages. He will look to step back up to 1400metres at Te Rapa on Saturday the 19th of March.
Dark Secret, Son Taari and Les Silk continue to tick over nicely. Queen of Cool, Japhite, Ventura and City Boy have all been allowed their first stretch outs on Tuesday and look to be progressing nicely towards their respective preparations in the coming autumn months. Untamed Diamond has missed a planned race this Saturday due to ongoing problems she has been experiencing with a front foot.
Two year olds Alamosa – Pinot Grieve filly & Testa Rossa – Taunt Pauline gelding have both had their work stepped up and appear to be coping with their respective workouts. They will work toward jump outs in the coming month. The stable has seen the return of two year old Swissta, Rip Van Winkle – Lady Pay, Swiss Ace – Princess Carolina geldings who have all settled back into the stable nicely. And also arrived in the stables this week is a Tavistock – Starina 2 year old filly named Lady Henrietta having her first preparation. She is raced by Brian Mollet and son in law Kerry Stove
Judy and I will be attending the Adelaide yearling sales next week held on the 13th to the 16th of March where we purchased 3 colts last year, and will look to be purchasing more for clients and the stable for syndication.
