Fast Learner is fit & ready for his assignment, the Rich Hill Mile at Ellerslie tomorrow. With a good gallop on Tuesday with Biggin Hill and some practice through the starting gates this week he goes into the race in good order. He has drawn barrier 7 and will be ridden by Leith Innes with Alysha committed to the ride on Consensus. The track is currently a good 3 with rain forecast and although he has been placed on slow tracks, being a big long striding horse we wouldn’t want a very heavy track for him.

Cinematic was to run in the special conditions maiden but once again fared poorly with a wide barrier draw so she will be scratched and will instead run at Ruakaka on Tuesday 5th over 1400m. She has worked in blinkers during the week and will race in them on Tuesday.

Biggin Hill & So Wotif will run in the R85 1200m at Thames on Sunday. Biggin Hill has drawn barrier 1 and will be ridden again by Vinnie Colgan while So Wotif will start from the outside barrier 5 of 5 runners and will be ridden by Zinjete Moki claiming 3kgs. Forecast rain could take the sting out of the Thames track (currently a good 2) which will only help both horses.

Selfie was a little disappointing on Boxing Day over 1400m. He was slow away and ended up well back in the field. He made his run round the field rounding the bend and then really only battled, laying in up the straight finishing 5th, 7 lengths from the winner. He may run again at Ellerslie on January 9th over 1500m.

Untamed Diamond
finished 7th in her race over 1200m, albeit only 1.3 lengths from the winner in a blanket finish. It was a very brave effort considering she was never closer than three wide for the entire journey. She has come through the race well.

Hot Mustard enjoyed the heavy track conditions at Randwick on Boxing Day finishing off the race well to run 3rd.

Cartell ran an excellent race on Monday at Ellerslie for Zinjete Moki, finishing 2nd over 1200m. He raced just off the speed as is his usual and made a big run up the straight to just be pipped on the post. He has come through the race well and could start again at Ellerslie on 9th January over 1400m.
