Cartell & Biggin Hill worked well on Tuesday morning in preparation for Matamata on Saturday. Both horses go into their races off the back of some good lead up form. Cartell will start in the open 1200m, he will be ridden by Alysha Collett and will need a bit of luck from barrier 9 of 12.  Biggin Hill lines up in the R85 1300m, he has drawn the outside barrier in a small field of 7 runners and will appreciate Zinjete Moki’s 3kg claim. He has also had a gear change from blinkers to a shadow roll.

Untamed Diamond has come through her impressive win at Wellington in good order. It was a very enjoyable day for a big group of her owners that made the trip down to Wellington to be on course. She will now be aimed for the 3yo Mr Tiz Trophy over 1200m at Ellerslie on 5th March.

Selfie was disappointing at Ellerslie last Sunday over 1600m. It looks as if he may be better suited over a shorter trip. He will be freshened and he too may head to the Mr Tiz Trophy race at Ellerslie over 1200m. Cinematic was a scratching from Ellerslie after pulling a shoe and standing on the toe clip in the paddock, she was very tender on the foot and has had a week of box rest.

Hot Mustard has been accepted to run at Nowra over 2200m on Monday 1st February. He has top weight of 61kg and will be ridden again by Winona Costin. The track is currently a heavy 9 which will suit.  He looks a good chance of picking up another win on the NSW country circuit.

Irish Missile was good in a jump out of the race day gates on Thursday morning, she will gallop on Saturday and may trial at Avondale on Tuesday, along with the Captain Rio – Pyrate Princess gelding.

Swiss Ace- Princess Carolina gelding has shown good improvement in his faster work over the past week, he will gallop on Saturday before having a short freshen up. Rip Van Winkle – Lady Pay gelding galloped well last Saturday but was found to be shin sore following so he has gone to the spelling paddock for a break.

Fast Learner has had a quiet week of pace work along with Queen of Cool, Alamosa – Pinot Grieve filly, Florence Hill & Savabeel – Shantaine filly.

Ventura, City Boy and Choisir – Folk Music filly (now named Japhite) have worked along quietly at the track in their first week back in work.
Dark Secret resumed in good condition from a spell with his owner Keith Oddy.

Currently Spelling –      Arctic Breeze, Red Giant – She’s a Tomboy, Son Taari, Cape Blanco – Beauty Queen, Swissta & Rip Van Winkle – Lady Pay.
