Irish Missile was an impressive 2nd at her debut at Avondale midweek over 1200m, she didn’t get the best of luck in the running and still ran out the race strongly for Alysha Collett. She will now be aimed at the 2yo fillies Pearl series race at Avondale on the 25th April.

With the heavy track conditions on offer at Tauranga Fast Learner will stay at home this weekend. Track conditions and his fitness level this week will determine whether heads south to Manawatu for the Awapuni Gold Cup over 2000m or stays closer to home and races at Ellerslie over 1600m next weekend.

Cartell & Biggin Hill will have a freshen up with a couple of weeks in the paddock. Both horses have been unlucky lately drawing wide barriers and having hard runs on firm tracks, they will both benefit from a short break.

Untamed Diamond & Cinematic are due to work at speed on Saturday morning. They look to be heading down the same path, possibly racing at Tauranga on the 16th April over 1200m in preparation for the Cambridge Breeders race over 1200m on the 30th April.

Ventura, City Boy, Son Taari, Queen Of Cool & Dark Secret are coming to hand nicely, they will aim towards a jump out at Counties or trial early in April before resuming raceday. Les Silk is also making good progress back to the race track.

Our two 2yo fillies from the Inglis Classic sale last year Japhite (Choisir) & Florence Hill (My Boy Charlie)  along with the 2yo Testa Rossa – Taunt Pauline gelding  from the Adelaide sale are showing promise on the training track, they are not far off a trial and making their race day debuts.

Swissta, Lady Henrietta, Alamosa –Pinot Grieve filly, Rip Van Winkle – Lady Pay and Swiss Ace – Princess Carolina geldings have had a quiet week of pace work.
