Racing today at Waipa are Biggin Hill & Chaprise. Biggin Hill will start in the R75 1150m. He has top weight of 60kgs but will have Zinjete Moki on board with a 3kg apprentice claim. He has drawn nicely at barrier 4 and wouldn’t need to improve much on his good first up run to finish in the money.
Chaprise will run in the R65 1400m. She will be ridden by Alysha Collett and has drawn a nice barrier in 5. She is fresh up, this being her first run since June however she has done plenty of work going into the race and should be running on well. Her maiden win was also at Waipa.

Untamed Diamond will start in the Soliloquy Stakes over 1400m at Ellerslie on Saturday. With Alysha committed to ride another horse in the race she will be ridden by Derek Nolan. She has drawn awkwardly at barrier 10 and this is her first attempt past 1200m however she is very fit and well going into the race and we expect a good showing.

Bellino & Coachline are both starters in the R85 2100m at Waikato on Monday. Both horses have good course and distance records and will be improved from their latest outings. Coachline will be ridden by Alysha Collett and will race in blinkers. Zinjete Moki will ride Bellino with a 3kg weight allowance.

A $20K Pearl series bonus on top of the $15K winner’s cheque made the long trip to Otaki well worthwhile for Ventura last Saturday. Apart from giving us a scare when she ducked out shying at the winning post she always looked like the winner and won easily in the end by 1 ¼ lengths. Jockey Darryl Bradley was very impressed with the mare and had only good things to say about her on returning to scale. She has always shown ability but has really matured and come of age this season. There should be more wins to come for her group of owners, Martin Conlon, Leigh Crockford, Derek David, Bede Hogan, Phil & Grant O’Connor and Peter Sparrow. Informant article below -
