All smiles for Biggin Hill at Ruakaka
Biggin Hill continued his good run of form with another win in the open 1200m at Ruakaka last Saturday. The 7 year old Falvelon gelding has hit a fine vein of form for his owner Joanne Sims with 2 wins and 3 placings from his last 6 starts. He has come through the race in great order and will look to continue his run at Ellerslie on the 24th. In the same race Cartell was disappointing, never appearing comfortable and finishing well back.
Selfie was the ‘black booker’ of the day, after being slow out of the gates he settled at the rear of the field and made up a huge amount of ground in the straight to finish 6th only 2 lengths from the winner. It was a very good effort given his big weight and time between races. He has pulled up well and could race next at either Ellerslie on the 24th September or Te Rapa on the 30th.

Top Prospect ran an improved race over 1400m at Ruakaka. He had to work quite hard to get to the lead and held on well to finish 3rd, 1.3 lengths from the winner. He will have an easy couple of weeks and look to race again at Avondale on 5th October.

City Boy will race in the R85 1200m at Counties on Sunday. He has drawn 11 of 11 runners but with the track already a slow 8 and wet weather forecast the barrier draw may be an advantage. He has a light weight 54kgs and Alysha is booked to ride.

Cinematic, Japhite & Swissta will trial at Avondale on Tuesday and resume racing following. Unraced Moki (Testa Rossa) Florence Hill (My Boy Charlie) & Shangold (Rip Van Winkle) are also down to trial before making their race day debuts.

Irish Missile will gallop on Saturday and could race again at Ellerslie on the 24th. Dark Secret, Fast Learner & Swiss Ace – Vibe have had workouts at ¾ speed this week. Lady Henrietta has pace worked, while Son Taari has had a quiet week with some muscle issues. 3yos Captain Rio – Pyrate Princess & Red Giant – Shes A Tomboy resumed training this week.

In Australia
Hot Mustard finished a nice 2nd at the Hawkesbury trials on Monday, the trial should bring him on nicely for his next race at Hawkesbury on 22nd September over 2100m.
Untamed Diamond has trained on well this week. Our Ventura has had an easy week of swimming due to a foot abscess.
