Ruakaka has been a happy hunting ground for owner Joanne Sims
Biggin Hill gets his shot at the big league at Rotorua tomorrow. With wins in R85 and open company recently he will start in the G3 Sweynesse Stakes over 1215m. He has drawn well at barrier 4 and will be ridden by Grant Cooksley with Alysha riding at Ashburton and Kelly unavailable. He goes into the race in great order however if the heavy track deteriorates later in the day it may not help our chances.

Top Prospect and Florence Hill provided the stable & Alysha with a winning double at Ruakaka on Wednesday. It was a well-deserved win for Top Prospect who has had all his 4 starts to date on the Ruakaka track and improved with every start. He is raced by Arthur Avis who also has Selfie with our stable.
Ruakaka would have to be owner Joanne Sims favourite track with Florence Hill winning over 1400m at her first start, along with the recent wins she has had with Biggin Hill on the same track.  Florence Hill (Myboycharlie – Mellow Elle) was purchased by Richard for Joanne at the yearling sales in Australia. She had shown promise at the trials prior to her debut and looks to have the makings of a good staying filly.

Japhite also produced a very good first up run to finish 3rd over 1200m. She raced on the speed and only just faded over the final stages in a fast run race.

We are hoping the weather improves over the week as we are looking to run a number of our team at the local Counties meeting next Friday. Swissta and Shangold, scratched from Ruakaka with wide draws, along with Cinematic and Irish Missile who have been working well since trialling could all start and be realistic chances is the track is reasonable.

Son Taari was good in a jump out on Thursday and with another gallop under his belt could be fit to race again at Counties on Friday or Avondale on the 26th.

Fast Learner will head to the trials late October/early November before resuming on race day. Cartell and Selfie appear to be over their setbacks and will gallop on Saturday, both will need a few more workouts at speed to be back to full race fitness.

Lady Henrietta stretched out well on the wet track on Tuesday and is due to have barrier practice through the starting gates next week. Guillotine – Mary Agnes will be stepped up in his work and also have some barrier practice next week.
City Boy, Captain Rio – Pyrate Princess, Red Giant – She’s A Tomboy have had a week of pace work. Molly Polly (Hussonet – Tevez) and the Medgalia D’oro – Lunar Ecplise worked quietly in their first week back at the track.

In Australia
Untamed Diamond bypassed Warwick Farm on Wednesday after drawing a wide barrier. She galloped impressively on Thursday and will be nominated for the night meeting at Canterbury on the 21st over 1100m.
After a track gallop during the week Hot Mustard has unfortunately been side-lined with a torn suspensory. It is very disappointing after his good run of form of late. He will be off the scene until next autumn.
Our Ventura has taken a bit of time to get over her Hawkesbury misdemeanour and will have a short let up in the paddock for a fortnight. Dark Secret & Moki have settled in nicely in Sydney and are due workouts at speed on Saturday.
