Ventura will head south this weekend to race at Otaki. She looks well placed in the fillies & mares R65 1600m, a race that also holds a Pearl Series bonus. She has drawn well at barrier 7 and has top jockey Darryl Bradley on board. Her previous form suggests the 1600m will be to her liking.

Untamed Diamond is down to race at Rotorua on Saturday however she may bypass the race in favour of Soliloquy Stakes, a listed race over 1400m at Ellerslie Saturday week. Her form thus far has been very good and she deserves her chance to race at listed level.

Bellino did well to finish 10th in the Matamata Cup last Saturday. As is his usual he jumped and settled well back in the field then made up good ground in the straight to finish midfield on what was a leader biased track. He will race next at Te Rapa on Saturday 24th over 2100m.  So Wotif was a little unlucky in his race, being held up when making his run in the straight. He finished 7th only 2.8 lengths from the winner. He is down to race next at Ellerslie over 1400m on 3rd November. Both horses have come through their races well.

Mills N Boon raced over 1200m at Avondale on Wednesday. She ended up back in the field from barrier 12 and ran on nicely in the straight to finish 7th. She will race next at Avondale again on the 4th November over 1400m.

Sakhee's Secret- Sister City.
Sakhee’s Secret – Sister City gelding was an impressive winner of his 850m trial at Waipa on Tuesday. Ridden by Alysha Collett, he jumped well and took up a nice trailing position then came off the rail turning for home and ran on to win by ½ length in a time of 51.99 well held.
Perfectly Ready – Cataari gelding finished 4th in his 850m trial. He jumped well and was three wide in the leading line before dropping back to trail and then sustained a good steady run to the line. Arctic Breeze finished unplaced in her heat. All three will trial again prior to racing.

Chaprise was to race at Avondale during the week however her gallop last Saturday was sub-standard so she will have a bit more fitness work to sharpen her up before resuming racing, possibly at Waipa on Friday 23rd October over 1400m.  Biggin Hill may also start next at Waipa the same day over 1150m.
Coachline galloped nicely with Ventura during the week and looks on target to race next at Ellerslie on Saturday 24th over 1600m.

Fast Learner, Cartell, City Boy, Primrose Hill & Red Giant – Regal Symphony filly have worked at ¾ speed this week and will again work at speed in company on Saturday. Selfie & El Escolta have had another quiet week, while Cinematic continues with pace work.

Irish Missile was to have a jump out on Thursday but was quite fractious in the gates and will need further barrier practice prior to trialling.
