Dark Secret ran a nice race to finish 4th at Waipa over 1150m during the week. He was three wide for most of the race from a wide barrier draw and still ran on well in the straight to finish 2.5 lengths from the winner. He will start next over a more suitable 1400m, the date is yet to be determined.
Japhite was run off her feet early, finishing 6th in the 2yo 1100m race at Te Rapa last Saturday. The race was run in a slick time of 1.03.54. When Alysha eased her off the hot pace she was then subject to the sand kick back which she resented and basically pulled herself up. On a positive note though, once she got going again she ran home her last 600m in 35.68 which was not a bad effort. She appears to have taken no harm from the run and will now head for a spell for 4-6 weeks.
Biggin Hill ran another honest race for 4th at Te Rapa. He jumped well and raced just off the speed finishing up the fence, 2 lengths from the winner. He may head back to Te Rapa on Saturday 21st again over 1200m. City Boy is a chance of being a race rival to Biggin Hill at Te Rapa.

Swissta was impressive winning his 935m trial at Cambridge on Tuesday in good style. Due to programming there are no suitable 2yo races coming up so it may be close to a month before he makes his debut. Son Taari also trialled well finishing 4th over 935m, he will have a race day start over 1400m in the near future.
Cartell was to run at Taranaki this weekend but he was foot sore after reshoeing earlier in the week so will miss the planned start.
After another good jump out on Monday the Rip Van Winkle – Lady Pay gelding has gone for a short spell along with the Testa Rossa – Taunt Pauline gelding who has succumbed to shin soreness following his good trial.
Top Prospect, Swiss Ace – Vibe and the Savabeel – Shantaine filly have continued with ¾ speed work.

Hot Mustard will trial on Monday over 1200m before racing over ground the following week.
Ventura is making good progress towards a trial at Hawkesbury on the 23rd before a race day start while Untamed Diamond arrived safely in Sydney on Wednesday and has settled in nicely to her new surroundings.
