Richard and Judy have returned from a successful trip to Sydney where they purchased 2 nice fillies, one by Manhattan Rain out of a Flying Spur mare, Madam Devine. The other filly is by All American out of the Generous mare Do Gooda. They will land in New Zealand later tomorrow and will spell on our property until they head off to the breakers.
Whilst there they had a few days to catch up with Jason who is riding like a demon on the Sydney circuit. He is currently sitting 3rd on the overall NSW jockey premiership with 61.5 wins and prizemoney of $2,965,940.00. He is also 2nd on the lucrative Metropolitan premiership with 36.5 wins.
Jason had 2 winners at Randwick last Saturday, one being Bull Point whom he rode to an impressive win for David Vandyke, a trainer he has had a great association with of late, lowering the colours of Hasselhoof albeit apologetically! He has almost a full book of rides at meetings over the next three days so he is certainly making his mark on the competitive Sydney racing scene.
Our horses have had a chance to work on the new course proper at Counties over the past two Mondays and the feedback from our track riders has been good. Counties Racing Club are hoping to be able to have jump outs on the course proper in late February/early March and are looking to race again on 10th April.
Hot Mustard didn’t get the best of luck when running 3rd in his race at the Sapphire Coast meeting in NSW last Sunday. He had a perfect run in the trail in the 5 horse field but couldn’t quite get a clear run over the concluding stages. Video replay link below –
