Untamed Diamond finished a close up 2nd, beaten by the narrowest of margins at Canterbury last Saturday over 1100m. Once again she didn’t get any favours from the barrier and fought on hard over the final 100m. She has come through the race in good order and will step up to 1200m in her next outing at Rosehill on Saturday 26th.
Segenhoe trialled nicely over 1200m finishing 3rd for Rory Hutchings at Warwick Farm last Friday and galloped well again on Tuesday. He has bloomed since being in Sydney and will make his Australian debut next Friday over 2000m at Hawkesbury, where we expect a good showing. Jason will take the ride on race day.
Moki was a little green in his trial over 900m at Rosehill on Monday finishing 6th, he will trial again in blinkers before racing. Dark Secret has spent some time in the pool this week along with track work. Our Ventura has resumed training after a short break.
Cinematic will step out in the R85 1200m at Tauranga tomorrow, she has trained on well since her first up run for 2nd and her gallop on Tuesday morning was very good. She will be ridden by Cameron Lammas with Alysha riding in Christchurch. City Boy has drawn the outside barrier in the same race and is also nominated for Avondale on Tuesday. Scratchings, weather and track conditions will determine whether he will line up at Tauranga.
Swissta & Irish Missile were both scratched from Dargaville with wide barriers and will now head to Avondale on Tuesday. Both galloped well during the week in blinkers during the week. Son Taari will also race at Avondale in the R65 2100m. It will be his first start over 2000m+ but his track work and races to date suggest the extra distance will suit.
A heavy 10 track put paid to Biggin Hill’s trip to Awapuni during the week, he will now race in the listed Counties Bowl over 1100m next Saturday. He will gallop tomorrow with Cartell in preparation. Florence Hill will also gallop tomorrow before racing at Counties over 1400m.
Selfie galloped in good style last Saturday, he should be forward enough to race at Ellerslie on 3rd December. Shangold & Top Prospect have had a steady week pace working after racing last week.
Captain Rio – Pyrate Princess, Time Lord, Molly Polly & Medaglia D’Oro – Lunar Eclipse have shown good promise in their early work at ¾ speed. Lady Henrietta has worked along nicely during the week and is due further barrier practice before a trial.
Red Giant – She’s A Tomboy, Azamour – Cataari & Any Suggestion – Southern Touch are getting through good pace work.
